1. STRATEGY
When a fresh approach is needed:
- the ‘Vision’ or ‘Mission’ needs a new cutting edge
- a new business or organisation is being born
- competitive activity or stakeholder requirements are changing the
organisation’s position
- a new activity stream has been acquired or an old business sold
2. PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT
When there must just be a better way of doing things:
- brand and product lifecycles are not delivering the desired returns
- maximise the potential of an acquisition or divestment
- customer service is a problem rather than an opportunity
- new ways of working are a struggle to implement
- greater efficiency required to make resources work harder

- people and the task are not effectively linked
- processes need to change… and with it people’s behaviours

- today’s culture is preventing the delivery of tomorrow’s ambitions

- the team no longer reflects the organisational need
- the business messages and strategy no longer coincide
- motivation is spoken about rather than being evident from actions
